| Financial Support |

Students who are resident in the UK and who are accepted for the BA Course will normally receive financial support from the Government through their Local Education Authority. This award comprises a tuition grant and a student loan that has to be repaid only when you begin earning enough after graduation. The interest rate on student loans is negligible. This funding will usually cover all the cost of coming to College. Any shortfall might be made up in the following ways:Your own resources Of course very few people have sufficient personal resources to finance a course at Bible College. However, if you have, or if you have at least part of what you need, you should be prepared to sacrifice that to fulfil the purpose to which you feel God is calling you. It is when we have given all that we can that we have the right to expect the Lord to provide through others. Your local church, family and friends Very often students are helped by family, friends or their local church. Before applying to College you should make sure that your church leadership supports your application. We will require a positive reference from your pastor or equivalent church leader. If your church is behind your application it may well be that, once you have been accepted, they will offer you some assistance. However, this is something that will depend very much on local circumstances and it is something you should probably pray about rather than ask about. In some circumstances it is better for the College to ask the local church if some help might be available for you. Work in collegeStudents who have genuine difficulties in paying their fees are sometimes permitted to work in College during their summer vacation. Bursary awards Help is sometimes available from the college Bursary Fund. This is administered by the college faculty who seek sympathetically to help suitable students who have genuine financial difficulties. Such awards are not normally granted to first year students. Faith In the final analysis, if you believe that it is God's will for you to come to Bible College, you must trust him to meet your need. He may provide in any of the ways already mentioned, or he may provide in a totally different way, but if you believe that he is leading you to come to college, do not hold back from applying because of financial difficulties. He is well able to meet your need. ![]() Special note for students from EC countries Under the laws of the European Community students from countries within the EC are entitled to receive the same grant towards tuition as is awarded to UK resident students. This is currently just over £1,000 a year. There is, however, no grant towards maintenance. |
