Studying by Distance Learning

Mattersey Hall offers a wide range of individual discipleship modules at two different levels. First we offer a variety of discipleship and basic training modules in our Christian Life and Christian Service modules, which are intended principally for use in small group nurture and training programmes. We will gladly advise you on how to make the best use of them in your local church environment upon request. Then our College Level modules are broadly equivalent to the level of training you could expect at a residential Bible College. You can choose either to study individual modules which interest you particularly or study for the Mattersey Hall External Certificate in Biblical Studies, which is broadly equivalent to the first year of our residential course (so if you were subsequently to apply for our degree programme, you would be considered for direct entry into the second year). You can also work on the Global University/Mattersey Hall Bachelor of Theology programme to earn a degree purely by distance learning. Our module fees (see the financial information supplied with this prospectus) are all inclusive, and cover the study guide, marking and assessment of your work and support and guidance from one of our experienced and well-qualified distance learning tutors. Very few additional materials are required, except for some modules which require the purchase of a separate course textbook (usually costing under £20). To complete the assigned research requirements you will need access to library resources. After registration Distance Learning students will have access to Global University and Bangor University libraries. Also access to a good local library or the internet may prove beneficial, however, and if you live within travelling distance of Mattersey Hall, you can have reading-only access to our college library free of charge.
