Richard Davis - Mattersey HallMA (Sheffield)
Lecturer & Director of Administration

Setting aside a promising career in the world of banking, Richard served as a missionary and pastor in eastern and southern Africa for eighteen years before joining the college faculty in 1991. His experience includes crosscultural church planting, mass literature evangelism and Bible teaching programmes in various parts of Kenya, Zambia and South Africa. At one point, over 100,000 students were being reached with the gospel through Bible correspondence courses run from a missions centre in Lusaka.

Richard later pastored two successful churches in the Johannesburg area before returning to Britain in 1988. His background in the bank means that he has been able to manage and control the college finance and administration efficiently and effectively for more than fifteen years now. His Master’s degree in Pentecostal Studies complements his present role as Director of Administration and he teaches New Testament modules on the BA degree courses offered by the college, as well as contributing extensively to our missiology programmes.

Richard is married to Monika, who assists him in the college’s finance office and manages the college bookshop, and they have two grown-up children, Tim and Sara.
