Ben Pugh - Director of Graduate StudiesMA (Manchester), PhD (Bangor)
Director of Postgraduate Studies

A former artist and hippie, Ben underwent a fairly dramatic conversion as an art student and soon developed a fascination with the Bible and its theology. Later, while working full time as an administrator, he achieved an MA with Distinction in the Study of Pentecostal and Charismatic Issues from Manchester and followed this with a PhD, from Bangor, in the atonement in Pentecostal theology. He has lectured in church history and historical theology as far a field as India as well as working cross-culturally with African-led Bible colleges and churches in the UK. He is currently involved in the ministry of the Eagles Nest Church in Nottingham, a church that is dedicated to those who, like himself, are from unchurched backgrounds. He lives in the Nottingham with his wife Pearl and their three children, Abigail, Gracie and Reuben.

Ben has been part of the faculty of Mattersey Hall since September 2009 and looks after the welfare of postgraduate students, offers general academic guidance, oversees recruitment and admissions, and helps to ensure the smooth running of the courses.
